ARCHITECTURE CASE STUDY 09:45-10:15
Architecture: Specialist Guest FOSTER AND PARTNERS – Jeremy Dworken, The HQ of JPMorganChase, “270 Park Av.” in New York
Jeremy Dworken, Partner at Foster+Partners and Director of its New York office, opens the session with a world-first presentation of the new JPMorganChase HQ at 270 Park Avenue — setting out the challenges of the world’s first fully electric office building, a landmark project in sustainability, technological integration and workplace innovation. His lecture offers the Greek audience a rare opportunity to enter the inner workings of the design and construction of a project where structural innovation incorporates climate-technology solutions that support employees’ circadian rhythms, biophilic design strategies and smart materials, together with the striking recycling of almost the entire previous structure, setting benchmarks for sustainable urban construction. The greatest challenge lay in the integrated engineering (MEP integration) and the energy design of a fully electrified tower. A flagship example of the urban integration of a landmark building into the metropolitan character of its New York site unfolds at CODE Forum as a central keynote address.
